Two international bodies that work closely on improving standards and safety issues have come to a joint agreement  to correct safety procedures for storage, container packing and dangerous goods declarations.

Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA) International and the International Vessel Operators Dangerous Goods Association (IVODGA) have signed an agreement to crack down on safety procedures.

Container ship fires and explosions in port storage facilities continue to be the result of poorly packed and misdeclared dangerous goods, according to the organisations, and they expect their collaboration to assist in producing clearly defined guidelines for the industry.

The disaster in Beirut last year has acted as a wake-up call for businesses involved in the transport, storage and distribution of dangerous materials. However, smaller incidents, especially ship fires, are happening across the supply chain on a regular basis.

Evolution Forwarding specialise in dangerous goods movements, by air, ocean and road. We provide complete solutions, which include packing, documentation, compliance and training for dangerous goods products.
