So what are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are determined as any substance that when transported in commerce, can be hazardous to people, property or the environment.

There are many materials and items that we use everyday that are classed as dangerous goods when transported by air, road or sea. Consumer goods like nail polish, aftershave and perfume, hair dye, deodorant and body sprays. Lithium batteries contained in mobile phones, tablets and laptops, even e-cigarettes. More industrial products classed as dangerous goods include paints, adhesives, epoxy coatings, aerosols, toxic liquids and organic peroxides to name but a few.
